Hoy sabado se llevo a cabo en Costa Azul la primera fecha del Campeonato Metropolitano de Duatlon organizado por Roberto Rodriguez director de Montevideo Runners.Ya desde hace un tiempo esta idea desperto el interes de muchos corredores y resultaba interesante participar de esta disciplina.
Llegamos al Club Costa Azul a las 15 hrs con un clima algo frio y bastante viento, como siempre el clima de camaraderia, algunos amigos de otros equipos como Juan de Villa Española, Jose Medina de Chasquis, gente de Fugitivos, entre otros.
El circuito estaba planificado sobre un trayecto de 3 kms sobre la rambla que largaba en el Club Costa Azul y se giraba para emprender la vuelta metros antes del puente que nos conduce a La Floresta.
El primer tramo era una vuelta de running y luego se tomaban las bicis para hacer 8 vueltas y de esa forma completar 2
4 kms de bicicleta, cabe aclarar que existian categorias para bicicletas de ruta y de mountain bike (mtb).

Varios puntos a destacar: si bien en lo personal y la de Sayago participamos de carreras de bici, aventura, fue nuestro primer Duatlon y la experiencia fue excelente, he escuchado y estoy aburrido de las criticas previas a las carreras en foros, pizarras y demas.
Fue una carrera con una organizacion modesta pero donde nos hicieron sentir muy bien, todo estuvo bien cuidado, vayan las felicitaciones para Roberto y esperemos que la proxima fecha en Parque del Plata el 16 de Mayo muchos se animen a esta disciplina exigente pero altamente disfrutable.

Un parrafo aparte para mis compañeros de equipo que asistieron en buen numero y que tuvieron destacada actuacion: Marcelo Lopez 1ero en categoria individual MTB, JX y Maxi primeros en categoria MTB postas, Daniel "dulce de leche" y Eduardo Medina de Olimpia 2dos en categoria MTB postas, Carlos Ruiz Zorrilla primero en su categoria hasta 19 años MTB individual.
Tambien destaco y felicito a Jorge Ruiz que casi sin entrenar llego algo cansado, grande Jorge, y a Fernando, Juan y Victor y Pablo Lapaz que con varios dias de cama se animo y como buen guerrero gano otra batalla, amigos felicitaciones por un gran trabajo de equipo.
A quienes no fueron: animense porque es una linda disciplina, exigente pero muy disfrutable.Nos vemos en la proxima.....
